"Selling/buying and Moving from one home to another in the same city is challenging enough but to do it in another Province move over 4000kms and 3 time zones is another level.  We spent many years looking at homes in the Metro Vancouver area casually assessing what areas we were interested in.  We didn’t use any local Real Estate agent since we didn’t connect with anyone.  Our goal was to move to a city with milder winters and natural beauty and the Vancouver area fit the bill. 

We met Fion a few years ago while she was manning her kiosk at a local mall.  We chatted about our wants and needs for a home.  We found she was attentive and really understood what we were looking for.  She was genuine, enthusiastic and we felt confident in her, so we stayed connected with Fion after returning to Ontario.  The following year, we decided to return to Vancouver to seriously look for our new home. 

We contacted Fion and asked her to produce a list of places which fit our wants and needs criteria. Fion took us on a weeklong tour of preconstruction and recently built homes.   Not being familiar with how real estate works in BC, Fion was a wealth of information.  She competently advised us about how property taxes and home taxes worked in BC.  The buying process is different from Ontario so it’s advisable to work with a local RE agent.  Fion did much more for us than we can remember.

We eventually purchased a preconstruction home from Fion’s list.  In addition, Fion was happy to visit the construction site to take pictures of the house build and kept us in the loop on a regular basis.   She was also helping us navigate with the builder over the closing dates as it was being pushed back and back due to covid 19 mandates which slowed everything down.  Fion was kind enough to inspect our house during the walk-through process with the builder as we were not able to attend the inspection in person.  Fion did a video call with us, so we were able to virtually be there too.

Finally, we moved to BC and met Fion late one night to pick up our keys.  Fion, met us with a “care bag” with food and drinks plus warranty forms she printed out for us, wow what service!  We very much appreciated the gesture since we drove across Canada.

After moving to BC and not knowing where to go to for basic services we asked Fion for suggestions.  She was very accommodating with us and recommended some local medical, dental, insurance and hair care places to look at.

She went above and beyond what a Real Estate agent would have done after closing the house.  We also asked her for local RE lawyers and service people which she was able to produce from her list of vendors.
